Let’s take a trip in time, now
let’s just press rewind
Before my eyes were burned blind,
when the world was mine
In to a time before the lies
broke a family tie
Before betrayal shattered dreams
and caused my father to die
I can only ask why? And hope to
hear a reply
But there’s a better chance in
having raindrops fall from the sky
Why even give it a try? What would
my father say?
It’s like I take a step forward
but I’m moving away
I know my childhood ended fast
but I still live in the past
Because a step that I advance
might end up being my last
And so I take a step back and let
my mind backtrack
In to the memories in my mind I
know will never come back
In to that perfect world that
changes when your innocence dies
And all the love you knew before
was like a hate in disguise
Before the right became wrong,
before compassion was gone
I saw this world as a target but
wanted peace all along
It’s what a yearn for so long, It’s
what I wanted to see
I see a future for the world but
I can’t see me
What irony this may be, to be the
only exception
Staring in to a mirror but seeing
no one’s reflection
