With Closed Eyes

A raging war within a family is my sight with closed eyes
Only when you close your eyes can you see through the lies
And all the people in the street are just the soldiers in disguise
But all the young and all the innocent are paying the price
Because the loud sounds of the war are silencing all their cries
Forcing the youth into a draft, making them fight for their lives
As a brother fights a brother their humanity dies
I see a endless war for nothing when I close my eyes

"The Abominable" By Charles Christopher ... week 1

The web comic "The Abominable" has been a lot on my mind lately. Charles Christopher tackled so many issues and pulled some chords in me. One page in particular caught my attention.
Charles "the snowman" heard a loud bang. He noticed that his young fox friend was missing and he ran towards the direction of the sound. When he arrived he saw his friend in the ground and he broke down when he realized he was dead. A panel in the page shows the tip of a gun pointing at Charles from some bushes, ready to shoot. Afterwards the gun was pulled back in the next panel. This symbolized that the "hunter" spared the snowman. This is an obvious sign of compassion and mercy. Something that goes beyond race, species, or any kind of physical attribute.
The pannel where the gun is pulled back is my guess as to what is my professor's favorite panel.
